ABOUT THE PROJECT:
William and the team at WD Roofing transformed the leaking roof of the historic Wicklow Lighthouse using TriRoof MultiFlex System, providing a long-lasting solution to a failed competitors overlay. This project showcases the teams expertise in restoring and protecting complex roofs under challenging conditions.
Roof materials are supplied by Tricel Composites. We are based in Leeds, West Yorkshire and Warrenpoint, Co. Down.

Wicklow Lighthouse’s existing roof system had deteriorated, leading to significant water ingress. The main challenge was to strip down the previous failed system and install a new, more durable solution that could withstand the harsh coastal conditions while maintaining a clean, aesthetic finish.
Over the course of two weeks, William and his skilled team worked diligently to remove the old system and prepare the surface. After a thorough deep clean and priming of the concrete, OSB, and asphalt substrates, trims were fitted to manage water flow and ensure proper drainage.
The roof was then fully overlaid with our TriRoof MultiFlex System – an incredibly durable, fully bonded, flexible modified resin. To enhance the strength and durability, the MultiFlex resin was reinforced with 225g matting, creating a watertight, resilient membrane.
